CVT Voice Rehabilitation sessions are for individuals seeking help from highly specialised rehabilitation professionals with extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and rehabilitation techniques for a variety of different types of problems, disorders, and diagnoses. CVT Voice rehabilitation sessions are available at CVI in Copenhagen or online via zoom.
Working with an experienced professional, each rehabilitation session is tailored to address specifically your voice, your needs and your problems. Rehabilitation sessions can be purchased either individually or as a course of therapy over periods of time.
CVT Rehabilitation sessions can be used to address voice issues such as
- Hoarseness, including rough, breathy, or weak voicing.
- Throat discomfort, pain, and strain
- A voice that ‘wears down’ with use
- Unstable voice that feels variable for no apparent reason, such as breaking or tires easily
- A voice that cannot meet the demands of your occupation (e.g. a schoolteacher, fitness instructor, actor, radio speaker, call centre, singer, and many more)
- A voice that cannot be heard in loud environments, such as in big crowds or in a large room or noisy surroundings.
- Lack of access to quiet/loud volumes, high/low pitches, or specific sound colours
The first CVT Voice Rehabilitation session will always include a thorough assessment performed by the experienced rehabilitation specialist. The process of rehabilitation always ensures that your voice is taken care of and that you are assisted every step of the way.
The techniques are easy to learn and implement and do not require you to have any special knowledge or background. Having a CVT Voice Rehabilitation session is an opportunity to work with a voice professional who can translate and communicate to you what ENT doctors or speech therapists are saying. It can be frustrating not to understand the specific terminology and concepts used. A CVT voice rehabilitation specialist can communicate with and between medical, scientific, voice professionals, and other related areas to be the link between different areas of expertise. This ensures that all relevant aspect of your voice is taken into consideration.
CVT Voice Rehabilitation does not offer diagnosis of voice disorders and should not be used as a substitute for medical assistance from a doctor. If you have not yet been seen by a doctor or medical professional for a diagnosis, please do so before attending your first CVT Voice Rehabilitation session.
Gender affirmative care
For those individuals seeking help in finding their voice, CVT Voice Rehabilitation sessions can provide techniques to achieve specific nuances needed during transitioning or when wanting to present differently. This includes not only work for changing pitch, but also the character of the voice, the amount of metal, the density (weight) of the voice, possible colouring choices, as well as the use of specific vocal effects and inflection and intonation to present with a different gender or sound of voice. CVI welcomes all genders, sexes, sexualities, creeds, races, and beliefs and wishes to hold space for all individuals to learn techniques to express themselves in their authentic voice. CVI is a non-judgemental and safe space where boundaries and processes are respected, and everyone is welcome.
