Dear Singers, this is the preparation for your 12th seminar
BRIEFING ON STATUS C:
Prepare your self for the Status C sessions in August and September. By now, you are familiar with the structure of The Written and the AA Status.
The Singing Status C is a bit different. This time you will Record the singing examples and email them to us.
You can find more details and info on the Status C (Written, Singing and AA) in a post here at cvi.my in May 2026.
TONE DEAFNESS AND INTONATION:
Read about ‘Tone Deafness’ and ‘Fine-tuning in the CVT App in ‘The Overall Principles’ (p. 048 – 051). Read no. 52 – 53 in the workshop manuscript. In the subject Tone deafness the CVI teacher will play AA examples of both artistic choices and uncontrolled intonation.
SPEECH:
Read about Speech technique in the CVT App (Using the Modes -> Speech technique (p. 175 – 179)) and no. 26 in the workshop manuscript
RATTLE, GROWL AND GRUNT:
Read about Rattle (p. 234 – 238) Growl (p. 239 – 243) and Grunt (p. 244 – 247) in the CVT App and no. 39 in the workshop manual.
AA:
Bring AA musical examples in advanced level modes (denisty and falsetto). Prepare one example to sing in the class and also a recorded examples. Classical examples are welcoming 🙂
TROUBLE SHOOTING MANUAL:
A way to optimise our teaching. Read the document from the handout folder at CVI.my before coming to class.
Questions to CVT
Bring questions you have to CVT. Both theoretically, pedagogically and AA. Sharing teaching singers cases are also very welcoming.
SWP & SWDA – Open brain:
Choose whatever you would like to work on. For the IRL groups there will be 3 hours with a pianist and 3 hours with backing track.
Open brain means: The CVI teacher will have an ‘open brain’ and share the thoughts behind the technically and pedagogically tools used in the session.
TEO IMPRO/RHYTHM:
Teaching each other improvisation or rhythm. Check your notes from the 7th and the 11th seminar. Bring a song suitable for working with impro and/or rhythm.
