Dear Singers, this is the preparation for your 10th seminar
DISTORTION AND CREAK/CREAKING:
Read about Introduction to Effects (p.220), Distortion (p.222 – 227) and Creak and Creaking (p. 228 – 233) in the CVT App and the CVT workshop manuscript no. 38 + 39
SWP & SWDA – Open brain:
Bring a song or phrases you would like to work on. We have 3 hours of SWP one day and then 3 hours SWDA the other day. Meaning that you have the possibility to choose to either work with a song, where pianist is needed. Or you can choose to work with backing track, where a pianist isn’t needed. In this session, you can also try out to sing with a microphone, if you are not so familiar with using a mic. For online off course SW DA the whole seminar.
Open brain means: The CVI teacher will have an ‘open brain’ and share the thoughts behind the technically and pedagogically tools used in the session.
SUPPORT 2 & GOING THROUGH AA STATUS B:
Check the App and your notes about support. Read no. 42, 48 and 49 in workshop manuscript. We will go through the AA status B in the class and you will get feedback to it at this seminar. You will listen to the examples again. Bring your original papers, so you have them while we listen to it again.
RAISED BACK TONGUE, DOGMAS, PED SUM UP:
Check all your pedagogical notes so far.
THE WORKSHOP:
At the 10th seminar you have a workshop for 7 test singers. All of you will anticipate. 7 of you will do the presentations and 7 will teach a singer. Some of you will do both.
The 7 test singers will see the whole presentation from 10.00 – 13.00, then have an hour lunch break. From 14.00 – 17.00, they will have a teaching session (20 minutes each) in front of the whole group. A pianist is there as well if we are in real life. If we are online, the test singers will use their backing tracks.
The following day, you will all get a feedback.
IRL: Please show up at least at 9.15. The workshop starts at 10.00. You have time to place the tables (ask for how to place them), make coffee/tea/water and welcome the test singers when they come. You also have time to check the iPad with the digital charts for the presentations.
Online: Please show up/be online from 9.30. The workshop starts at 10.00. You will have the time to check ‘sharing charts’ and check your sound. Ensure your online room looks nice and clean and like a teaching room.
We will inform you, who is doing presentations 1st – 3rd teacher and 4th – 7th teacher and who are teaching according to which group you are attending as soon as possible. This will be written here in cvi.my latest 6 weeks before your workshop. So please check this again. In the welcome round on the first day of the seminar, you will learn the exact teacher presentation nnumber.
You are welcome to find a fellow 3-year who can be your prompter (both in the presentation and test singer), if you need a helper / memory in the workshop. It is optional.
The workshop preparation:
The Workshop Manual is the overall overview of the workshop and the one to use for preparing the workshop. If you are in doubt of things or how to explain some things you can use the manuscript as background information and the videos as inspiration.
* Learn the parts of the presentation you get and know the What, Why and – How
* Practise to keep the time slots (20, 25, 30 minutes according to the subject)
* Check scanning and decoding for the teaching

The 7th teacher is about summing up and answering questions to CVT from the test singers.During the 1st – 6th teacher presentations, the 7th teacher presenter looks for missing details and will spend time to clarify them. If something important is missing or questions from singers are not completely answered, you go through the missed subjects and clear up misunderstood things when it’s your turn. After the summing up, you ask the singers if they have other questions. (20 minutes)
Before the workshop at CVI:
• Check up that everything is ready for your presentation: charts, whiteboards, pens, etc.
• The ones teaching a test singer will get the name of the test singer on the day of the workshop.
• The ones doing presentations will get the exact presentation on the first day of your seminar.
• Make sure you know the boundaries for your subject
• You are allowed in a teaching a test singer session to say no to a subject if you haven’t been through it in class; like the effects
ATTENTION: If you suddenly can’t attend the planned seminar after we have divided the workshop subjects, please send Christina mail ( Christina@shout.dk) and Thorey (Frontoffice@shout.dk). This will influence the workshop.
